Ziauddin Yousafzai is an education reformer and advocate for women’s rights in Pakistan whose 12-year-old daughter Malala was shot in the head by the Taliban while on her way to school. Yousafzai started a chain of schools called the Khushal Public Schools and encouraged Malala, who survived the shooting and is now a global icon, to write about her experiences attending those schools. He is also the United Nations Special Advisor on Global Education.
