Meet SXSW’s brainiac of a festival

Here in Austin, March *is* SXSW. Between separate festivals for Film, Interactive, and Music, the creative arts blanket the month and the city with filmmakers, new media innovators, musicians, and the people who love them. But there’s another festival in the mix on which we’ve developed a deep intellectual crush — SXSWedu. We’ll leave the brilliant description of this one to SXSW itself: “SXSWedu extends SXSW’s support for the art of engagement to include society’s true rock stars: educators!”

We couldn’t agree more, and have been thrilled to share the stage with clients like Scientific American, Macmillan Publishing, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the New Media Consortium, and more to help bring educator-focused keynotes and panels to life through visual capture — both as large-scale, 4’ x 8’ infomurals and in just as delicious, bite-size, digital sketchnotes. (And Sunni has been part of the programming itself, as a Featured Speaker at SXSWedu 2015!)

We’re reminded of March smack in the middle of our Austin summer as the SXSW PanelPicker is now open through July 22, accepting session proposals for SXSWedu 2017. Open to any and all education stakeholders, there’s even a super-helpful Session Starter Kit to guide you through the process. And if you’re looking to attend rather than present, getting involved in the PanelPicker process means *you* have a say in the programming when Community Voting opens up in August.

Good luck in your pitching and let us know if we’ll see you there. We’re happy to brainstorm around ways we can visually support your panel, or help create an interactive, attendee-inclusive experience. (Bonus: we’ll gladly share our local homegirl scoop on where to find everything from the best breakfast tacos to margaritas!)
