Dear Sunni and Marilyn,

My sincere apologies for the delay in emailing you; but it’s really your fault. Thanks to you two, it’s been a little over 3 months since Hurricane HITS blew through.  You lit a fire under our Board that has been unbelievable!

Immediately following the planning meeting, we held a board meeting where we established 5 or 6 new committees and assigned membership. All in an effort to make sure that we moved forward with our 5 bold steps.  And since then, we have not stopped.

The good news is that things are really starting to happen at HITS.  We raised at least $50k in grass roots fundraising alone!  It’s an exciting time here now. The bad news is that as board president I have had to work incredibly hard just to keep up with what is going on. But this is really a great thing.

I don’t think I ever actually thanked you two for your time here.  What an incredible job you two did. Although I believe in the process, I was not sure that the graphical approach worked. I am truly a believer now.  It certainly makes sense now that if people see things…they believe them.

ON VISUAL THINKING PRESENTATIONS:

I’m Evangeline, (aka evalemoine on Twitter), we met at VizThink SJ, in your Graphic Recording 101 session. You are amazing - so worth skipping Dan Roam’s session! 

So, your session changed my LIFE, girl! I now graphically record grocery lists. I use it to teach my 11-yr old son different things, like I talked about career options using a graphic “road map”. (first you finish middle school, then h.s., then you can choose city college or trade school or 4-yr university, or become a pro athlete…..HA!) And now, I finally want to introduce my supa’ fresh new skill into my work life!
