Gamestorming is the practice of using simple but powerful visual thinking techniques to make meetings work. The Gamestorming Workshop is a one-day session (based on the book) that will establish fundamental competencies in designing and running meetings using principles of visual thinking and office supplies you already have in your closet.

Join us at this 2-day workshop!
Your mind will thank you.

Gamestorming Your Workplace (Day One)

(A.k.a., How to Design and Lead Meetings using Words, Pictures, and Games for Analysis and Innovation)

Gamestorming from XPLANE on Vimeo.

DESCRIPTION:

Since the vast majority of us have to either plan or attend meetings, why not become a pro at designing and leading them? The simple but revolutionary techniques of visual thinking and gamestorming assure that your meeting effectiveness is powerfully amplified and you dramatically shorten the length of time needed for a group to solve a problem. The value of visual thinking and participatory design is enormous. The benefits include:

  • Using a simple, shared visual language to increase understanding and information retention;
  • Applying improvisational discovery to keep participants engaged;
  • Mapping the big picture, solving problems and innovating as a team;
  • Creating visual meeting artifacts to drive decisions forward.

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist or an artist of any caliber to learn how to design and lead better meetings. During the first day of this combination workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of visual language, how to illuminate complexities by mapping the big picture and how to use thinking games to innovate on and solve real problems. So let the games begin!

GAMESTORMING WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this workshop, learners will be able to:

  • Recognize when to have a meeting (and when not to);
  • Design meeting agendas that move a group to a desired outcome;
  • Use games to support innovation and creative problem-solving;

  • Lead meetings, workshops, and group sessions comfortably using visual thinking and basic office supplies.
