Gamestorming: A Videographic Explanation
Gamestorming from XPLANE on Vimeo.
XPLANE is and will always be among my favorite companies, and my co-author Dave Gray is and will always be among my favorite people. The above video is one more reason why I joined forces with his genius. It explains the essence of our work described in the book Gamestorming. The visual meeting techniques within are about doing what comes naturally to all of us: exploring, discovering, and reorganizing knowledge so we can make something better, at work and in the world. Take three minutes to watch it and then do yourself a favor and re-learn how to solve problems at work. I rarely swear to God, but you’ll be glad you did. Swear to God. And tell us your experiences at gogamestorm.com.

Oh my god I love the video! Almost as much as I love your book. My house (where I work) has become unrecognizable thanks to your book… my non-geek friends look around at all our elaborate computer gear and cannot comprehend why the entire house — kitchen to bathrooms — are so full of whiteboards, posters, packs of post-it’s hung up in strategic corners, etc. If I had told people that I had a neurological condition… That I was recovering from a traumatic brain injury, for example, they would nod their heads in perfect understanding. Yet we fail to recognize that what makes a damaged brain work better also makes a “normal” one work better!
I have apparently infected a few people, though. I went to my Icelandic horse trainer’s home for the first time and was thrilled to discover that he had taken both my advice and the ideas in your book (which I gave him) to heart. He did not have to tell me… It was on the walls.
He is a world-class rider and trainer, but has spent a decade unable to communicate his unique and master/expert knowledge and skill to others in a scalable way. He believes that is all changing now… That these tools have unlocked the door to a fabulous place in his brain
My horses and I thank you and Dave!
Kathy, coming from you that is HUGE. I can’t tell you how much Dave and I love to hear tales from the front about how Gamestorming has affected people’s work practices and problem-solving abilities. I seen it transform many, many folks and it’s no joke! Are you posting any of your “traumatic brain injury” experiences at gogamestorm.com? If you’ve got time after riding Icelandic horses, that would be excellent. Otherwise, just keep up the exploration. As you’re finding out, it will be worth it.
[...] when I describe the process of Gamestorming, it immediately begs the question: But what does it LOOK LIKE? It is visual thinking, after all. [...]
