Partnering and Conflict Resolution

CLIENT: Carol Warkoczewski, MSOLE,  is a registered architect who specializes in organizational success via team performance and conflict resolution. Her company, Synergy Builders, has a proven track record in helping stakeholder groups succeed despite the often thorny challenges involved in large-scale construction projects.

NEED: Carol was selected to present at the VIP/CLG Symposium for the Texas Historical Commission and she asked me to partner with her to support her presentation and leave a lasting impression on the audience.

SOLUTION: Review and refinement of presentation materials, clarification of appropriate learning metaphor, infographic creation, graphic recording.

OUTCOME: As a graphic recorder, I use visual language to enhance audience understanding of complex or unfamiliar topics. Most members of the audience were versed in architecture, engineering and various aspects of project management, but they struggled with understanding how and why projects go awry due to team dynamics. Because Carol and I refined her content beforehand (and because she already has chops), she generated a succinct explanation of conflict resolution as it relates to the stages of a project. Carol and I were very much in sync as she described conflict resolution tools verbally, while I reinforced her lessons graphically. The image above is the result of our collaboration for a 1-hour presentation.
